• Neppy is the first of the four Sprites that I got to design for Fae Farm (the closest thing we have to Bosses). They're the Water Sprite and have a very childlike, playful personality. This design took quite a lot of exploration, especially for how we wanted the shader on their body to look, and I spent quite a bit of time in Blender playing around with different looks.

  • This was one of my first tasks: designing the Cozy Decor items that you can use to decorate the inside of your house. These give you buffs to your stats the more you have of them. They were a bit of a challenge because they needed to have several constraints: to reflect what in-world materials they were made out of, to progress in complexity as you reached a new level, and also because we have only 3 dye slots per item could only have 3 colours on each. I had a lot of fun with these and I fell a bit in love with prop design after this.

  • I had the honour of painting the map of Azoria that players use to navigate through Fae Farm. I was so excited to paint something that would directly make it into the game, but it's so hard to capture in one image how much time and careful thought was put into this; I think it took the better part of two months! Each landmark was drawn as a separate Smart Object, the final image ended up being 6 Gigs and had 250 layers! Total labour of love.

  • Coming up with head accessories and face details for the player character was one of the first tasks I was assigned, and I had so much fun jumping into the world. Including at the end some wrinkle concepts that didn't make the cut, I really wanted older folks to be able to see themselves in the game too!

All the base heads are by the amazing Camille Peyrebere.

  • My favourite concept for the game: Aspen the Carpenter's Chair. I had a very short period of time to do this concept and really wanted to do as responsible a job as possible--I looked at a lot of amazing resources for wheelchair education and information. This was a really fun challenge to make something that felt like it could be actually usable in real life and also fit the chunky and small scale of our world. I wanted it to feel beautiful and hand-crafted, like Aspen's masterwork that he'd been working on and improving throughout his life.

  • Released in March 2024, this update gave players a ton of new content, including a new outfit - the Spring Dress - and new wing options.
